Pronovias is a family-owned business that started in 'El Suizo,' a prominent Barcelona establishment specializing in lace, needlework, and high-quality silk fabrics created by Alberto Palatchi Bienveniste in 1922.
When Alberto Palatchi Ribera joined the company in 1964, he helped to pioneer the design of the first prêt-à-porter bridal fashion, a revolution at the time that made wedding gowns affordable to all women.
In 1977, the company began expanding internationally, pioneering the franchise industry and building the first franchise store in the Netherlands, before expanding to North America and Asia in the 1990s.
