About the brand

Plein Sud (meaning "Due South") was established in Paris by Fayçal Amor, a Moroccan-born designer who initially trained in economics. The brand became a staple of the late 90s and early 2000s fashion scene, characterized by merging North African and Mediterranean warmth with sharp French tailoring and urban modernity. Amor was known for developing his own fabrics, often using vegetable dyes and upcycling techniques long before they became industry standards. The label was so influential that it famously provided headquarters and financial backing for designer John Galliano when he first moved to Paris in 1989.
