A dress should collect
more than dust.
Every garment on Codressing has already lived a life — a wedding, a red carpet, a Tuesday no one remembers. This is the story of why we started making sure it gets to live a few more.
I left home at eighteen and never really stopped moving.
I'm Floriane — originally from a small town in France, in Berlin for more than ten years now. But the story starts earlier than Berlin. At eighteen I packed a bag and went looking for the rest of the world: the United States, then Australia, then China, then Germany. Four countries, four sets of friends, four wardrobes I had to build and then leave behind.
Somewhere between customs lines and new apartments, I got fascinated by two things at once — how much the sharing economy was reshaping the way people lived, and how many beautiful clothes were sitting untouched in closets.
The idea didn't arrive in a boardroom. It arrived mid-thesis.
While I was writing my thesis on the sharing economy and its impact on the fashion industry in China, the question kept getting louder: why do we buy pieces we'll wear once or twice, while the sharing economy was already reshaping how people moved, stayed, and worked? Somewhere in those research notes, Codressing stopped being an observation and started being a plan.
A wedding dress worn once. A gala gown worn twice. A closet full of "just in case." I couldn't unsee the gap between how long a garment lasts and how long we actually wear it.
I moved to Berlin, and in 2021, I made it real.
A thesis is one thing; a business is another. I settled in Berlin, kept building on what I'd researched in China, and in 2021 launched Codressing — a way to actually put circular fashion into people's closets, not just into a paper.
Buy the pieces you'll love for years. Rent the ones you'll love for a night.
Codressing is a platform to rent or buy designer clothing and accessories, new and pre-owned. Falling for a piece you'll wear for years? Buy it. Need something extraordinary for one wedding, one gala, one shoot? Rent it. Visit us in Berlin, or have it shipped to wherever you are.
And when a piece has done its job in your closet, it doesn't have to end there — rent it out or sell it through us, and let it start someone else's story.
Every stamp in my passport left me a little more curious about how the world gets dressed.
Nearly 800 brands, sourced and hand-curated by me over years of travel — from names you already know to rare, emerging labels I found because I happened to be in the right city at the right time. Wedding guest, red carpet, an everyday piece with a point of view, or something you didn't know you needed: it's in there.
We also dress the people telling the stories, not just the ones wearing them.
Costume designers, artists, musicians, and production teams from all around the world come to us when they need something distinctive for a film, an editorial, a stage, a video. We've helped source looks for productions connected to the Berlinale, Cannes, and the Deutscher Filmpreis — happy to do the same for yours.
Discover designers and styles you won't find on a rack down the street.
A closet that changes daily. Wear what you want — no obligation to keep it.
Rent instead of buy, and skip the dry-cleaning bill too.
Most clothes are worn once or twice. Let's put them back to work.
"Because great clothes deserve more than one moment to shine."
