About the brand

Céline is an iconic French luxury fashion house founded in 1945 by Céline Vipiana as a made-to-measure children’s shoe boutique in Paris . In the 1960s, it expanded into ready-to-wear women’s fashion and accessories, introducing timeless pieces like leather goods and the signature "Triomphe" double‑C logo in 1973.

In 1996, Céline joined the LVMH luxury portfolio, setting the stage for global growth.

Creative directors have shaped its identity, from Michael Kors's chic modernism in the late '90s, through Phoebe Philo’s transformative, minimalist vision (2008–2018) that introduced cult favorites like the Luggage and Box bags, to Hedi Slimane’s bold, rock-inflected makeover after 2018, which dropped the accent in the logo and added menswear and haute couture.

Marking its next chapter, Hedi Slimane left in October 2024, and Michael Rider, a former Céline and Balenciaga veteran, began steering the creative direction from early 2025.
